An road accident which occurred around 3am on Tuesday morning have shattered the plans of two women and subsequently subjected their health to debility and severe injury. According to Patience Abanjuoubo who narrated what happened to a Nation reporter, she said that they were heading to a Good Morning Market in Aba, Abia state from Uruakpa in Akwa Ibom state to sell their fruit, vegetables, palm oil which they harvested from their farm when they had the accident.

The accident involved a commercial bus with Registration number; Abia 288 YG was carrying seven passengers and Mack Truck with Registration Number; Rivers XY 713 PHC belonging to a yet-to-be identified Construction Company. The commercial bus was heading to Aba, Abia state from Akwa Ibom state when the fatal accident occurred.
The injured victims were rushed to the MAZPA Specialist Hospital, Ukaegbu road. However, two of the female victims whom were badly injured are fighting to make life out of their unconscious state.
While the driver of the commercial bus was taken into the custody by the police, ACP Okoro Awassam, the Aba Unit Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) warned both commercial and private individual drivers against over speeding most especially at sharp bending corners. She advised them to overtake when the road is safe enough. Meanwhile, she promised that they would continue to monitor how the patients respond to medical treatment.
