The police arrested about 30 men and 10 women on Sunday, April 17, at a hotel in Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra state.
According to Vanguard, the Nnewi-Ichi command of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) of Anambra state police command made the arrest.
Reports gathered revealed the SARS operatives, acting on a tip-off that criminals lodge there, stormed the place at about 9pm to make the arrest. The police also claimed at they recovered weeds suspected to be Indian hemp during the raid.
However, some female suspects accused the SARS operatives of dehumanizing them and not having respect for womanhood by not allowing them to dress up and also beating, exposing and allegedly inserting their fingers in their private parts.
According to Sources, some of the suspects were later granted bail.
