Olisa Metuh Vomits in Court, Trial Stopped

The trial of Olisa Metuh, the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party has come to a standstill after vomiting repeatedly at the Federal High Court in Abuja yesterday, May 19th.


Olisa Metuh’s counwel, Etiaba Etiaba told the court yesterday that Olisah Metuh was rush to the hospital by Andy Aghaji, his brother-in-law when he fell sick on Wednesday night. When they arrived the hospital, they were told that the healthcare givers were on strike. However, some drugs were prescribed for him by the doctor who told him to return to the hospital yesterday by 11am for another medication.

Realizing he would be in court yesterday, the doctor advised him to manage and go to court but he should be brought back to the hospital immediately after his appearance in court.
On reaching the court premises, Metuh started throwing up and lacked strength to enter into the court room. His counsel Etiaba asked for the adjournment of the case so he could receive a proper medical attention. The case was then adjourned by the presiding judge till 23rd of May.
The ill Olisa Metuh is undergoing trial for allegedly collecting a whopping sum of N400 million from Sambo Dasuki, the Former National Security Adviser. According to the Economic Financial and Crime Commission (EFCC), the money is from the stolen $2.1 billion arms procurement fund.
