Ghana Wedding Day Shock; Groom Arrested Over Armed Robbery Attack As The Bride Slumped
A wedding ceremony taking place atTakoradi Aldersgate Methodist Church in the Sekondi/Anaji, Ghana on Saturday, April 2, 2016 was unapologetically interrupted when two policemen in
plain-clothe stormed into the church premises arrested and bundled the groom out of the ceremony over an alleged armed robbery attack.
The suspect, Aaron Ackah(pictured) who is 30-years-old is alleged to have robbed a Chinese Small Scale Miner of an amount of Gh¢18,000 at Aniamote, a community in the Wassa Amenfi District in the Western region after he had injured him with a knife on his left hand.
According to a civilian, who led the police to the wedding venue at West Anaji, the couple had just completed the exchange of vows and were about wearing their rings when police officers disguised in plain clothes entered the place unannounced and whisked the groom away after using one of
the invitation cards to confirm his identity.
As guests to the wedding ceremony were left in shock, still trying to understand that what they were seeing was not a Ghollywood movie, the bride, Rebecca Buah collapsed to further heighten the already heightened tension. It was indeed a bad day for the bride whom apparently must have started her day in great celebration and merriment. As for the Bride, it was an experience too bitter to remember.
The suspect has since been taken to Prestea for further investigation.
