EGYPT: Anna Yara, Aged Grandmother of Air Hostess Who Died on the Egypt Air Crash Slumps at her Memorial Service

The memorial service of Yara Hani Tawfik, a 26-year-old Egyptian hostess was finally held yesterday, 21stMay at the St. Mary and St. Athanasius Church in Cairo, Egypt.

During the memorial service, Anna Yara, the victim’s elderly grandmother collapsed. Concerned friends and relatives who were present at the service rush to help her.  As Anna Yara was overcome with grief that could only be expressed by cry, one of the well wishers held her at her face.
According to Nahla Wagih who is a friend and a collegue to Miss Yawfik, Yara was the perfect daughter and grand-daughter to her family. She said that the family must be broken by her painful departure and there were no words to describe her loss. However, Mrs Wagih was one of the many collegues, relatives and friends that attended the memorial service to which Mailonline was invited.
Between cross of flowers, a large picture of late Tawfik was mounted in the church during the period of 40 minutes service. Members of her family had stood in a queue outside the church as mourners and sympathizers paid their respects and extended their heart-felt condolences.
