CELEBRATING PETE EDOCHIE AT 69
The history of the Nigeria’s movie industry will not be complete with recognizing Pete Edochie. He is popularly known as Ogadagidi and he is one of the movers and shakers of Nollywood due to his remarkable talent.
The fair, huge, veteran actor of a man is a native of Anambra state and he is born on March 7, 1947 in Enugu. He had his primary and secondary education in the Northern Zaria of Kaduna state, Nigeria. He went further to study Journalism and Television in the School of Journalism, England.
Pete Edochie was a seasoned broadcaster with the Nigeria Television Authority. He came into national prominence when he played a major role of Okonkwo in Chinua Achebe’s all time best selling Novel, Things Fall Apart.
However, Pete Edochie has featured in movies like Billionaires Club, Lost Kingdom, Dons in Abuja among many others. Meanwhile, he has won several awards including Best Actor in Africa, Actors Guild of Nigeria Grand Patron, Most Creative Veteran Award all to his credits.
As he turned 69, may God grant him the desires of his heart.
